For sale is my dads 1983 BMW R65Dad has owned this bike since Mid 1985 and is only the 2nd owner, he hasn't really used it over the last 15 years or so and now its time to go, as he has had to admit he's just not up to riding it anymore.Brought from local BMW dealer, it benefits from some (expensive at the time) extras, such as full BMW side boxes (one has crack in the lid but locks etc all work, pannier rails, twin front disk brake option, factory fitted heated grips (one doesn't work) and full genuine BMW fairing. the fairing was fitted by the dealer when Dad brought the bike, as he was commuting up to London everyday on it, he opted not to have fairing infill panels etc fitted.It had been serviced regularly and any issues fixed when needed, although dad never kept any receipts.it was fully serviced couple of years ago, brakes were overhauled and has done very little miles since.Most recently new battery has been fitted, the carbs have been stripped and cleaned/balanced, I've also had new throttle cables fitted, and the whole fuel system drained and cleaned, with an external fuel filter added.I have been riding it the last few days, and it now runs well, everything works.It is genuine original bike, which runs nicely, its 36 years old now so don't expect immaculate, it has marks in line with its age, but think its very good for its age.these are getting rare now, and this bike is well specified, it has only recently been MOT'd and it passed with NO advisories.Viewings welcomed, please do not message me with questions, but feel free to call me on 07986337031 with any questions.
