rare and interesting Japanese classic from 1987, don't think these were imported to the UK. Manufactured in 1987 and imported in 1999 it was last MOT'd in 2012 according to the DVLA. It is being sold here as nice original example, not running at present, for spares or restoration.
I have had the motor spinning on the electric start and it turns over nicely, That's about as far as have gone, I've not checked whether the fuel is going through or if it's sparking. All the switches and levers are in place and seem to be in good order and working. When you turn on the ignition the lights come on.
Brakes seem to be good and work well at walking pace! Tyres are matched Bridgestone Battlax and are in good condition, the rear looks to be fairly recent. You can check the MOT history online at www.check-mot.service.gov.uk which will show it last MOT'd in July 2011 at 61602 kms (376 kms 235 miles ago) with advisories on pitting to both discs and worn rear disc.The exhaust looks to be original and clean, obviously I've not had it running to hear it but it looks good with minor blemishes.
All in all straight, clean and original bike but sold strictly as non runner. It turns over but that's as far as have gone to try and start, it was bought as non runner so it may be an easy fix or there may be deeper issues. There is battery in place which is not connected which shall try and charge.
Bodily it is very good for its age. All the panels are straight and clean, no accident damage, nice clean paint that looks to be original and all the factory stickers are in place as far as can tell. The two nearside indicators are held on with black tape. The petrol tank has few blemishes and chipped paintwork, notably at the bottom trailing edge, on the nearside there is bubbling which can be seen in the photos, there is fuel in the tank and it's not leaking. The ignition key operates the petrol tank lock and it turns but is bit stiff so will need easing in, it obviously hasn't turned in while and those keys are skinny so haven't opened the tank!

This Kawasaki is garaged in Kennington, London SE5 and viewing is encouraged. It comes with key but no V5, this will need to be applied for but it is on the DVLA website and is shown as on SORN, the frame number is plainly visible and starts ZX400D, payment in cash and collection from South London within week of the auction end please.
