1998 Suzuki VL1500 Legendary Classic
I've owned this motorcycle for the last 12 years and mainly rode it touring throughout Europe.I customised it with classic American style fiberglass mudguards and then added the touring boxes to make the touring easier  -  during the time that I've owned/rode the bike, it has not once let me down.
It has been stored for the last 5-6 years, as just lost interest in the touring.
Last week retrieved it from under it's cover and the piles of accumulated junk covering it  -  washed it down, put some more air in the tyres, fitted new battery and wow it fired straight up, even with the old fuel in it, what bike  -  today it even passed it's first MOT since 2013, with only advisories  -  relating to the rear brake (fluctuation and binding) which considering how long it's been standing was to be expected and this should improve with riding  -  the 3rd was headlight(dipped) intensity reduced, which is due to my fitting of a HID Main Beam  -  please do not bid on this bike if you don't like loud bikes as it is equally as loud as any Harley and it also has extra loud vintage type wind-tone horns which make people take note.
The photos form part of the description, so please look carefully at them  -  please do not expect pristine looking bike, as it was quite heavily used before it was stored, with trips to Portugal, Spain and most of Europe  -  could go around it and spend time tarting it up, but think it's best left as it is for you to see  -  it has memory foam leather seat, which had made and it's extremely comfortable on the long journey segments  -  front and back are Bridgestone tyres which are in good condition and don't think that they have actually covered 1,000 miles as they still have loads of tread left (see photos)  -  as I've said previously it now has new battery  -  the only possible mechanical downside, is that can just make out very slight tappet noise on tick over (it never had this before it was stored away), but it does vanish on increased engine revs and obvious oil pressure, in my opinion and from past experience think it would benefit from an oil and filter change after it's been sitting so long, as these engines do have hydraulic valve lifters   -  other than this it sounds like sewing machine  -  would have no hesitation in just changing the oil and setting off for Portugal on it again.
Viewing is certainly recommended, the bike is located in Biggin Hill, North Kent and can be viewed at most times by arrangement, but if you win the auction without actually viewing, then will not let you view/take the bike without first having the payment in full  -  sorry if this seems harsh, but will not entertain tyre kickers and hagglers after the auction's ended  -  if you don't agree with this .... then please don't bid and before you ask, the auction will run to the end and cash on collection is preferred.
Please feel free to contact me (Colin) on 07718092507
ps Smokey Suzy relates to the bike colour  'Mercedes Smoke Silver'  and not the exhaust emissions .............
