Ducati999S Custom Special
 For sale is my Ducati 999S Custom bike. The bike is in wonderfulcondition and has full service history. The only reason am selling the bikeis have five bikes and want to reduce the collection slightly to moremanageable number. am in no rush to sell the bike and will not accept anystupid offers. The Ducati 999S is an underrated classic that is fastappreciating year on year. The bike was panned initially when it took over the 996/998bikes with the looks that didn??™t impress at the time, however as time has gonealong these underrated superb machines are fast becoming classics with agreater credence than their predecessors. This bike has been installed with one of two of the onlyremaining all carbon fibre Febur-Bursi carbon bodywork sets, which includes anall carbon long-range fuel tank that was originally fitted to the famous andvery beautiful Motowheels Project 999R. Significantly lighter than the OEM carbon-fibre body, the Febur-Bursi body was designedmainly for racing. It removes lot of the extra detailing from the OEM shape,most noticeably the angular fairing aperture around the handle bars and theaero side-pods. The nose-cone is also faired-in with distinctive perspex headlightcover. The side fairings also come in pieces. The short tail unit is singlepiece item by MS Produzione and is included.

The body-kit was purchased from Martin Wong of Motowheels in the USA. Accordingto Martin only four kits were ever sold via the Bursi name in the USA. Two setswere destroyed and this is one of only two that remain.
Extensive searcheson the web will show other Febur-bodied 749s and 999s but not one of them isanything like as beautiful as the Motowheels bike. am not aware of any otherexamples in Europe.

The body-kit installed on the bike includes the following:

Carbon Side panels (including BURSI EVOLUTION graphics to the original 999R style)
Carbon Rear tail (pin-striped)
Carbon Front faired-in nose-cone (pin-striped)
Carbon Front fender (pin-striped)
Bespoke lightweight Bursi side-stand.
Carbon fibre long-range Fuel tank.

Like all proper carbon fibre tanks, you do see some very slight indications of'weave' in localised areas but has been professionally sealed with Caswell GTX- the absolute best tank sealer for carbon tanks. It looks very beautiful andis wonderfully detailed big improvement on the Ducati aluminium tanks,including the 749R item.

The standard 999R tank was 15.5-litres. Hopelessly small. the 749R tank was18-litres. Usefully bigger. The Febur tank fitted is 19.7-litres. It gives about130miles range.

The price of all the Ferbur components, with all the painting that was commissionedwhen the kit was delivered to the UK was ??7000. This is not the rubbish carbonkits that you find on ebay and the web, but professional kit of the highestquality that surpasses even the carbon of Ducati themselves. Take look at thepicture and come and look for yourself. You arepurchasing unique one off Ducati 999S special. The bike has had fortunespent on it and you will not find anything like it for the money. The bike hasa Full Service History and the previous owner was Ducati mechanic so it hasbeen pampered. It has 10 months MOT and has had previous owners. This is asuperb bike that am no rush to get rid of as it is going up in value year onyear, so no silly offers and time wasters. As say the only reason for wantingto sell is to reduce my current bike collection.
