 The FTR223’s predecessor, the FTR250, came tomarket in 1986 as pure flat tracker dirt bike. Timing wasn’t on Honda’s sideon this one, however, as that was the start of the race replica boom thatdominated the market for the next ten years. Scroll forward decade to the late 90’s, however and streetcustom bikes were coming into their own. People wanted light, flickablemachines that were fun to ride on the road or on tracks and easily customised.Enter the FTR223. The 223 is light and compact but tall enough to give acomfortable riding position to the averagely built rider and with enough zip toput smile on your face. This is 2002 in Honda Tricolour colours with the originallarge side covers and rear carrier. There is some slight rust on the front endof the exhaust and cosmetically the engine shows little sign of age but thetank looks fantastic. Mechanically she is in very good condition and the enginesounds and performs really well. Whether kept as she is, or customised, ridden on the streetsor taken up the green lanes, this is superb, comfortable and nippy bike thatreally looks the business.
