So bought this RC30 just few months ago and it had been in storage since 2009 but it started and ran well despite not having been used for some time.  I've owned one of these beauties before and had decided that wanted another one and this one seriously caught my eye as 'keeper'.  It was owned by an elderly gentleman who was the first owner in the UK and had bought the bike back in 2007.  It's Japanese import so not UK bike.So the bike ran reasonably but wanted it mechanically perfect so took it to my local specialist where the head mechanic also owns an RC30 and left it with them to strip the fuel system, dismantle and clean out the carbs, drain all fluids and replace with new, rebuild the carbs and reassemble and balance them once running again.  During this process the brake master cylinder was found to be functioning poorly so that was rebuilt with genuine Honda rebuild kit and decided to do the clutch master cylinder too as the clutch was slipping little.  also decided to replace the clutch with genuine Honda components so that was done too and of course full service with oil filter, oil, plugs and air filter.  We drained the coolant and flushed that through and replaced and drained the brake and clutch fluids and replaced too.  I've also just fitted new genuine battery and brake light switch as both needed attention. In all I've spent close to £2000 in the last months on the above work (receipts are available) to ensure that the mechanical side of bike was fully up together before moved on to the bodywork.  As testament to the quality of the work booked the bike in for MOT today and it sailed through with no advisories.  This bike is ready to ride and enjoy and runs really well.  The last owner put new genuine brake callipers on the bike and I've just changed the brake pads at the front so the brakes are exceptional for 30 year old bike.  So, the next job for me was going to be to get the bike painted because the paint is not perfect and there are some marks here and there, some of which are visible in the pictures.  However, I've tragically decided to part with the Honda as need the money for other things.  It's breaking my heart because said if ever got another RC30 would never part with it but needs must and it's ready for someone else to enjoy.  Mechanically it is now excellent but could do with some paint to make it completely perfect.  Most of them available have marks anyway and it's up to you whether to use it as it is or have the paint done first.  Either way it's cracking bike and I'll be very sorry to see it go.I am advertising elsewhere so reserve the right to end the auction early.  Payment of £500 by bank transfer at the end of the auction please and collection in person with the balance.  won't export the bike UK collection only.  I've set the reserve very reasonably so bid away and treat yourself for Christmas! On 15-Dec-16 at 17:09:45 GMT, seller added the following information:So I've had the usual enquiries asking what the reserve is and how much will take for the bike and rather than respond to each person separately the situation is this.  If you know anything about RC30's you know what these bikes are worth and I'm not going to start protracted negotiations with bunch of people because I've done it before and it's exhausting.  If you want to make sensible direct offer then please message me with your offer and I'll tell you yes or no, but no silly offers please as it's a waste of time either that or bid on the bike in the normal way.  The reserve is way below market value for the bike and therefore it's not the price want to sell for, but I'm trying to be reasonable to stimulate the interest and be fair to those bidding.  I've been totally honest about the bike in the description so bid with confidence and bid to buy as I'm not haggling later.
