Honda VT600 Shadow
Up for sale today is this VT600 Shadow, it has been off the road since 2015 but with Jump start it still fires up and runs like Swiss watch (typical Honda!), It comes with key which fits all locks and its current V5 logbook. It has covered Just over 17000 miles which is nothing for one of these (the same basic engine is fitted in the renowned mile muncher NTV600 where it is known to exceed 100,000 miles with ease). Mechanically the bike is pretty sound, cosmetically it is tatty although most of that is due to the poor paint job!
The Engine starts and runs well with no nasty noises, smoke or rattles, have ridden it around my drive and the clutch and gearbox work as they should, The brakes are functional but the front is binding (I think due to the after market levers) and the rear is in need of adjustment, the suspension is working fine and the forks are in nice clean condition, Most of the electrics work with the exception of the rear indicators, horn and starter solenoid which needs jumping to start the bike. Both tyres are legal but the front is getting low on tread, the chain and sprockets have some surface rust but should clean up and be serviceable for while yet. would also recommend giving the bike full service and check over due to its time standing.
I think this bike would make an excellent basis for custom build, if you have look on google at VT600 Customs/chops/bobbers etc there are lots of great examples and idea's out there. That said you could just do few basic repairs and have it on the road as it is in weekend (I would possibly be willing to sort this out for the winning bidder but this would need to be discussed before auction end).
All in all its good solid machine in need of little tlc, should be nice easy project to return to the road, am starting the auction at bargain price with no reserve, any questions feel free to ask, best of luck and happy bidding.
