have owned this bike since 1999 and will be very sad to see it go as it has been great ride for the last two decades. have had it professionally serviced every year even with fairly limited annual mileage and this servicing for the last 10 years has been done by Julian Cameron, one of the UK's top, award-winning bike mechanics, who always enjoyed riding it when he took it off for the MOT test, which it has always passed first time (last time this February). The bike has been kept clean and always under cover. Totally reliable in all the years have had it.
The condition is sound and original and it rides as it were much younger than its 22 years but naturally there are few age and use marks here and there but nothing serious and it's never been crashed or abused. was always more interested in the way it went than having it look perfect, although when polished up it's still something of head-turner as good, original XRVs are rare these days and it's always been great looking bike.
I fitted it with an adjustable screen to allow me to increase screen height to give more rider protection, and also had the standard seat professionally re-padded and re-covered, with slightly thicker, softer lining for greater comfort, but this may present problem if you are short of stature as even as standard this is pretty tall bike.
Chain and sprocket are recent and likewise the brake pads. The rear brake was stripped and rebuilt last year, and the front wheel was rebuilt few years back in original gold finish. Fitted with heated grips and adjustable screen. Good road tyres with plenty of life left. Also fitted with crash bars and centre stand (which is not standard). came across and bought spare Africa Twin rear wheel (silver), and sprocket at car boot sale 10 years ago, which have kept, and which I'll include with the sale in case it's ever of use.
Digital readout works as it should and all instruments/lights are fine. Fitted with Givi top box bracket and I'll throw in the box itself although the clip and lock is broken and missing, but it's still useful to carry stuff in.
Bike is in Maidenhead. No silly offers considered as this bike is an appreciating classic and is well worth the fair money I'm asking.
(For some reason can't get the eBay listing to stop saying the bike was previously registered overseas whereas actually it was new at first registration in the UK in 1995.)
