SuspensionForks are straight, stanchions are corrosion free, sealshave slight weep, would recommend replacement. Rear shock is not the original ZXR400 item, my best guessis it is piggy back shock from later ZX6R.It is in good working order, no leaks, however as it isof the piggy back type the under-tray/battery box has been modified to allowfitment of this shock meaning the new standard fitment battery purchased for thebike is too tall so the riders seat cannot be fitted.When purchased the bike it had small profile batterythat did allow the seat to be fitted.So solution is either fit an original ZXR400 shock or geta small battery. WheelsBoth front and rear wheels are straight, no buckles ordings.Some paint flaking and oxidation to finish. TyresFront and rear are still within the legal limits, howeveras they’ve been sitting for some time they feel hard and would recommendreplacement for piece of mnd. BrakesBoth front and rear are operational and do what theyshouldDiscs are good not warped, still good amount of lifeleft in them.Pads little low.Master cylinders are in good order, no leaks. Chain andSprocketsIn good order, still life left in them. ElectricsIndicators are not operating, there is no relay sound soI suspect this is the fault.Front brake switch not operating need attention.Other than that all other electrics work as they should,rear brake, rear lights, front side, low and high beams, horn, starter alloperational.Recent new battery fittedAll control identification marking still clearly legible Engine &ExhaustStarts and ticks over easily, revs freely.Engine when ticking over sounds good, no nasty knocks orrattles.Exhaust headers are in good order, solid no rot or blows.ART alloy race can fitted, sounds awesome! BodyworkBeing totally honest the bodywork is rough, it has beenpainted with rattle can, and not that good job.Need attention, having said that the panels are salvageable,no major damage or cracks, worth restoring.Tank has been repaired as seen in the photos with filler,need re-finishing.Internally its solid and holds fuel, no leaks. SeatsRider and pillion seat in good order. No rips or tears. ConclusionOverall decent machine in good condition for its age.Would only take minimal time and effort to get roadworthy.Or would make lovely basis for full restorationproject, track or race bike.Do not miss out on this little gem! 7 day auction, no reserve so pick up bargain!
