Royal Enfield 500 Bullet exactly as sold in England in 1960.
MOT to March 2022. Oil and filter change weeks ago.This one, built in India has had very little use and is well kept. Only one former policeman owner before me years ago.Lovely handsome bike with the original right foot gear change. This model was in continuous production from 1961 to 2005 by the Royal Enfield factory in India and in UK 1959 to 1963. Post 2005 the factory began "modernising" the bikes with disc brakes, electric start and whole new engine.Benefits of this bike are: nostalgia for the 1960s, great good looks, low maintenance easily done at home or the jungle, bags of low down torque and that low revving single cylinder sound.The model features self oiling chain system, steering lock, strong rear carrier and original tools and spares.Sad to see it go, my favourite since sold my BSA Lightning in 1975.
