Now back up for sale due to total time waster! Please only genuine buyers.
Welcome to the sale of my fully restored Suzuki GT550A triple. This is my 3rd project and now for sale to make way for another rebuild for this winter .This is genuine UK bike and have the original invoice from Coburn Hughes in Crawley Road, Luton, log book in my name and also several old MOT's.There were owners prior to me but the last chap was dealer so only real owners so very low considering its almost 40 years old.
I purchased this bike almost years ago in boxes, it had been dismantled by previous owner but their intention to restore never happened as in many cases.
I have carried out the following work and have all the receipts to prove the work has been carried out rather than like some sellers who just claim the engine's been rebuilt etc etc.
Paintwork: Frame blasted and painted gloss black but battery box, swing arm, both stands, footpeg bars top yoke have all been gloss powder coated in black, these are the area's that get most wear and tear.Tank lined inside and painted, no holes repaired as it was in very good condition and side panels painted to match.Wheels: Rims rechromed and show the correct markings, hubs polished, stainless spokes, new bearings. rim tapes, tubes and tyres (Bridgestone Battleax)Brakes: Rear hub skimmed and new shoes, front disc refurbished, new pads and caliper rebuilt with new seals etc.Exhausts: Re chromed, new baffles and exhausts all oiled up inside to prevent any further corrosion. When pipes are cleaned in the process of chroming all the old residue is cleaned out leaving bare metal and if you don't either build up oil from the engine running or fill the pipes with oil to give them protective coating they can develop rust holes over time, don't ask me how know this, an expensive lesson!Speedometer rebuilt and NOS tachometer fitted, the mileage shown is not genuine as the speedo has been rebuilt. Gear indicator works fine. All cables replaced with new genuine items.Handlebar rubbers, new genuine items. Both mirrors new (pattern)Indicators new (pattern).Shocks new (pattern)New chain and sprockets (pattern parts)Front mudguard is correct single stay version that has been rechromed.Rear mudguard is new genuine item.Front wiring loom is new genuine item.Rear loom is perfect working order.Front fork stantions rechromed, rebuilt and bases polished.Fork ears rechromed. All bolts etc re zinc plated.New genuine foot peg rubbers.New genuine tank cap and fuel tap.New genuine Suzuki seatFront disc caliper rebuilt with new seal kit and pads.

The engine has been completely overhauled and being UK bike from new this has had the cylinders replated with Nikasil coating and then new pistons and rings.Crank rebuilt by Chris Appleby with new bearings, seals etc.  Gearbox checked and rebuilt, carbs dismantled, sonic cleaned and vapour blasted then fitted with new jets and gasket kits. New carb rubbers and new air filters. All engine work by Bluesmoke Baz, well known for his work on Classic Suzuki's. All casings were polished to mirror finish.
I have used experts in their respective fields and have experienced their quality on previous restorations so I'm confident with their work. As you can see have carried out an extensive restoration and the bike needs nothing apart from new owner who can either ride it or add it to their collection, it will do both jobs admirably. will MOT the bike once sold so the new owner gets full 12 months.
I have spent way more than the asking price and also my many many hours of labour have not been taken into account. can't imagine the cost to do job to this level by professional, it would be LOT more expensive, just enjoy doing the restoration part. However, I'm happy to discuss any aspect of the bike by phone on 07950 027313 and will consider reasonable offers close to my asking price however if you text me an offer it will be ignored or if you ask for "lowest price you will take mate" will also be ignored. If you are looking for bike that has this much time and money spent and is ready to go then you'll appreciate how much time and money it costs and lowball offers are ignored.

Personal inspection is recommended.
Payment is £250.00 deposit by Paypal immediately after purchase with the balance in cash on collection. No overseas bidders unless agreed. No part exchange.
