HelloI’ve decided to sell my Vmax due to health reasonsI bought the bike years and spent almost £2000 on handlingmodifications making it very different beast to the one purchased. Modifications todate…Progressive front and rear suspensionSeat re-shaped to lower centre of gravity by 2”Top mounted steering damper (best money ever spent on thebike)Billet fork braceBig beefy billet yokesDropped the forks through the yokes 1”Swapped the solid front wheel for spoke off an early1985 Vmax Bad bitsSeems to run quite hot when you get caught in traffic. Fan comes on promptly and coolant running through system fine. My mechanic is booked up forthe next weeks so can’t get it looked at prior to sale. Not stopped me using it as only ever take it out for short jaunts on country lanes. Answers on postcard please. It’s bit scruffy here and there i.e., Engine paint is prone to flaking off the Yamaha Vmax andmost owners like myself tidy it up every couple of years with enamel paint. Master cylinders look tired and could do with repainting. Good bits. The V4 engine will pull in any gear and so you can potteralong without shifting up or down.No vibration at allIf warm the engine up and open the throttle, it’s like beingfired from catapultMuch improved handling to stock model. Indeed my mechanicsaid it was the best handling Vmax he’d ever ridden. Other33k on clock12 months MOT
