This is an opportunity to acquire much loved and extremely well cared for stunner. searched long and hard to find 'the right bike' and this was it. With just 10,000 miles on the clock when bought it and in immaculate condition with sensible additions.
The FJR is the consummate tourer. Fast, comfortable and stable. With shaft drive, Anti Lock Brakes and an electrically adjustable screen, you have all the toys you really need to make long distance touring pleasure.
I bought this bike specifically to tour on, primarily for longer trips with the wife. I've personally taken it round Cumbria, to the Normandy Beaches and recently down to Le Mans. It has behaved faultlessly but alas, my wife has decided that motorcycle touring is not for her. As have other bikes, have decided to let this go to someone who can make proper use of it. you'll see that it even comes ready to ride through France as have registered it with the authorities and obtained 'Crit Air' environmental certificate so that it can be used in restricted areas.
If the very reasonable asking price is paid, the bike will come with all the extras, such as the Bagster Tank cover and bag, plus the genuine Yamaha fitted pannier and top box liner bags that make unloading your luggage so much easier and cleaner. If it doesn't make the asking price, these will not be included and will sell them separately. The Sat Nav and mount is not included.
The bike has Thatcham approved Datatool alarm and comes with two keys and two working alarm fobs. I've also fitted 12v Power socket that can be used with battery optimiser and further 12v ignition switched socket to power things on the move, like mobile phone chargers etc. The Alarm was fitted by the initial supplying dealer as this was an American Spec bike diverted to the UK due to the high demand for them here. The American spec bikes have useful things like the full luggage set with liners and safety reflectors on the front forks and rear boxes. What they did not have was the dreaded Yamaha immobiliser that requires the Red Key. Hence the standard keys are just that and simple replacement key can be cut if needed. the alarm was dealer option for insurance purposes.
It has full service history and have personally flushed and changed the coolant, brake fluid and shaft drive oil just to ensure its in tip top condition. am former qualified vehicle examiner, not some bodge and dodge merchant! General servicing has been done 'professionally' to keep the book stamped up but like to ensure the extras are actually done and done properly using genuine Yamaha shaft drive oil etc. still have the bottle and some contents to prove along with some spare Yamaha water pump drain plug washers. You will see in the pictures that have all the old MOT's, original owners books and other paperwork including receipts and old V5's (Not photographed).
The Photos probably don't do it justice but the bike is exceptionally clean and exceptionally low mileage for the year. The engine is silky smooth and the gearbox as sweet as can be.
I've fitted decent crash bungs just in case.... and have all the original bolts and even the plastic infills for where the luggage mounts. These mount points still have the clear plastic protection from new around them and have fitted similar to the forks as they are completely un marked, which is how wanted to keep them. It also has chrome radiator protector, as can be seen in the photos.
I am putting this on fixed time listing prior to our holiday. If it doesn't sell, will keep it until the spring, when expect prices to pick up, so I'm in no rush to sell but would like this to go to good home.
I'm easy to find, just off the A12 in Essex at junction 18 and 15 Minutes from junction 28 of the M25. We are near Stansted and Southend Airports and can collect from either of these or Chelmsford railway station which is on the Liverpool Street to Norwich line.
