For sale, aYamaha RD250LC 4L1, early non tiebar model, so definitely 1980 model, andshould be MOT and Road Tax exempt, once registered.
The bike isa UK model (sort of), it was originally registered in Guernsey (4 digit numberplate), but will have to go through the DVLA process for an age related plate,for use on UK Mainland roads.I do havethe change of ownership form, from the Guernsey Lincensing Department, in myname.Purchased bya friend, who imported it into the UK in 1993, it sat in his garage for 20years, until bought it in 2013, and it sat in my garage for another years.Frame andengine are non matching numbers, but both are early non tiebar type (frame andengine numbers are present and clear).  The bikeis very standard original and almost complete, the major parts that aremissing are:Centre standand bolt (I’ve got the spring!), the lugs are still on the frame.Exhaustbaffles (pattern ones are available).Plastic Tooltray.3 xIndicators Pattern items cheaply available (all metal stems are present onthe bike).Plastic coilcover shield.Battery& Chain.Bottomradiator hose has been found fitted since photos were taken. Good BitsPetrol tankhas some light rust inside, but no rot at the bottom (hasn’t had fuel in it for28 years!).Uncut rearmudguard (with Stanley reflector), rear subframe and grab rail.Forks arenot pitted.UK Mph clocks(trip knob missing).KoitoHeadlight and Stanley rear light.OriginalYamaha mirrors.Engine is on standard bores, hasvery good compression, clutch works and selects all gears. No chain damage.2 ignitionkeys (but these do not fit the petrol cap or seat lock). Bad BitsBothexhausts have some gravel rash.Not all thewiring is connected, but it is all there.Tyres havehad it (but still hold air)! The wholebike will require full nut and bolt restoration. Please don’t bid buyexpecting every fastener to be in the correct colour olive green, and everybolt with number on it! The bike isfitted with the 350 twin disc front brake system (I prefer the symmetry of the twin disc set-up), if the winning bidder prefersthe single disc set-up, can fit this in its place.The bike iscompletely dry no fuel, oil, water or brake fluid present.
