Yamaha XT500c 1976, imported from USA. 1st registered in UK 12/18. Matching engine frame numbers. SuperTrapp exhaust. Now fully UK registered as Historic Vehicle, hence Tax and Mot free. V5 in my name. Have nova paperwork and Vintage Japanese Motorcycle ageing documents. Built as an XT this arrived from USA as stripped down Off Road well used dirt bike, essentially TT! All electrics not involved with ignition were removed. wanted the bike street legal so fitted tail/brake light and led headlight. Tail/brake lights are good and bright, headlight less so but fine for night city commuting etc. Also fitted speedometer and small battery to stop light flicker at tickover. Also an ammeter to confirm charging. Other than oil, filter and valve clearences, havn't touched the engine as it pulls strongly and runs smoke free. All gears select and hold well. painted the tank, not professional by any means but was pleased with result and petrol proof laquer has proved solid. One issue the lower front engine mount is siezed, looks like the bike landed frame first on rock some time in American history. It has been cut through between engine and frame and siezed bar drilled and tapped into to secure with bolt either side. Doesn't prevent engine removal but if you ever wanted to split the case that rod would need driving out. I've been riding this bike for year or more, it has never failed to start and always puts smile on my face. Good condition original saddle, original bars and new spare TKC 70 identical rear tyre included. great fun ride! Happy to hold until lockdown relaxed. Cash or cleared funds on collection.
