First registered new in May, 2006. One owner from new.(The bike was registered with private plate, but this has been retained and is not included in this sale).19,800 miles, and regularly serviced, by Yamaha, or Yamaha mechanic.V5 present, and all keys (two standard, plus "master" red one). H.P.I. clear no finance outstanding.Original owners manual, and various m.o.t. certificates, plus Datatag kit that has never been fitted.There is currently no tax, and no m.o.t. as the bike has been S.O.R.N.'d and garaged since bought new bike, and haven't had the opportunity to ride it again since.Last serviced at 19,369, so only some 400 miles since service new battery fitted.The bike is standard, apart from the Goodridge steel braided brake lines, (front rear), and has EBC sintered brake pads (front only) for better "bite". Additionally there are four sets of R&G crash protection (rear swingarm/paddock bobbins; Lower Upper frame/fairing; and lower engine casings). There is also META357T security alarm immobiliser fitted (by the dealer, when purchased), which has been completely reliable. (I have the two fobs, as well as the "master" code card, and instructions too.)
This bike has covered the majority of those miles, on motorcycle touring holidays abroad, (around once year), with luggage, in Spain, France, and Andorra, covering the Pyrennees and Picos de Europa mountain ranges, as well as regularly riding U.K. roads, of course!It has never missed beat. Who says an R6 can't go touring?!...It has also been round many of the British, and some Spanish race tracks, and has excelled everytime.Again, it has never missed beat.Anyone who tells you they have never taken this type, or any other sports bike on track/circuit, is either lying, or they bought themselves the wrong bike!!(You wouldn't buy boat, and not put it on water now, would you?!...)This is one awesome motorcycle, and will accommodate the novice, or more experienced rider, and will even "cut-it" with those more professional in their skills. If you're looking/reading here, you probably already know this!
That's the factual/good stuff, but there is, unfortunately, some annoying items to disclose, in true, open and honest eBay policy.Irrespective of how good this bike looks in the photos, it's 13 years old... but it's been looked after! There are, therefore, normal wear tear marks, minor scuffs, and tiny stone chips, as expected with bike that's covered 19,800 miles. In addition, there are grazes, scratches, wear, and worn/cracked plastics, along the left hand side (L.H.S.) fairings/bodywork, which have tried to highlight, as best as can, in the enclosed photos. (More photos can be provided upon request, should you need them). I must stress that this is only "skin deep", as the original R&G protection did it's job, and the damage is only down to "gravel/stone rash". There is no damage to the bike other than cosmetics/paint/plastics.(Full complete replacement fairings are available on here (eBay), for around £250 £400 depending on your choice style, and race/track fairings are similar, if that's where you intend to use the bike. was going to do this myself, before offering the bike for sale, but aside of having little time, also thought that new buyer would have their own taste colour design to consider, to make it their own, and personal.)
So, this model of bike is fabulous, and would suit new or experienced rider. It can be ridden, reliably, safely, and without any changes, repairs or alterations on the road, as I've done for many years after the incident above. Alternatively, it could also be converted into that track race bike project you've always wanted, (I was going to do this myself, but another road bike drained the piggy bank instead!)... It also comes with the V5 doc., so you could easily put it back on the rode in the future, if you wish.
Irrespective of the minor bodywork damage, know the worth of bike like this, so won't accept silly offers. It might not be perfect, but the price reflects this... There are other '06 R6's available on various familiar sites on the internet, of the same year, ranging from £4,500 to over £5k, so please consider these facts, before placing your bid. No test rides I'm afraid there are other ways for you to find out what an R6 feels like to ride!Bank transfer within 48hrs of winning bid, or "Buy it Now", and cleared funds before collection, is my preferred payment, for obvious reasons.Collection within week of the auction ending please.
