Pleasetake the time to read this auction from beginning to end and to carefully watchthe video and review the pictures. If you are serious bidder, that should gowithout saying. This description is not meant to be all-inclusive by any means, but I’ll be as detailed as can. have sold of my personal classic Mustangson ebay over the years and have had nothing but positive experiences; want tokeep it that way. would prefer any interested bidders to inspect the carprior to bidding.Mustang driving video: https://youtu.be/4GtL0QL8Zvg
Mustang running and walkaround video: https://youtu.be/g4-wFOnHmGAIntroduction:You’relooking at very special Mustang. This is one of the very first ever builtMustang fastbacks, produced in November 1964. They don’t get much earlier thanthis. What makes this car even more special, is that it’s factory code 289with 4-speed. Usually the code 289 cars have 3-speeds when they’re manualcars. This ponycame from the factory as Vintage Burgundy car, but is now very dark blue. Itoriginally came with red interior, and that has been kept the same.It nowhas factory 4V intake with Holley carb. The Holley carb was rebuilt (I wastold) just before got it. personally like Edelbrocks, but I’m sure Holleyfan will appreciate this carb. Sometimes you have to tap the gas to get it tostop sending fuel to the carb. And sometimes it whistles little. thinkthere’s vacuum leak at the carb. hadn’t fixed it because was going toreplace with the Edelbrock and it doesn’t affect drivability. The bodyis fairly straight overall. It’s good driver quality car. The paint looksgood from few feet away. But if you want concourse show car, you’ll need topaint it. There are some dings, couple bubbles and couple scratches. gotcompliments everywhere took it. You never see dark blue with red interiorMustangs, but it’s truly stunning combo. It has newerSSBC Disc Brakes up front with dual bowl MC and proportioning valve. The carstops very well. This was an expensive kit new.It alsohas heavy duty sway bar up front, just like the GTs. It alsoappears as if the engine compartment wiring harness is newer. The blower motorfor the heater was never hooked back up. Don’t know why. never botheredbecause didn’t drive it in the cold. The carsits pretty low and looks mean with the 15” GT style wheels. Mechanically,I don’t think the car “needs” anything. drive it all over the area and havehad it on couple 2-hour trips with no issues. think it has had internalengine work done, as it seems peppier to me than other code 289s I’ve owned. With thatsaid, would not personally get in this car and drive it 14 hours. It’s 50years old.Allelectrical components work to my knowledge. Horn, turn signals, brake lights, etc.Radio delete plate. No radio. use my iPhone.I have aLOT of money and time invested in this awesome pony. If you’re looking for afastback to invest in, this is unique one to have. am onlyselling this old girl because need start-up capital for my business.Averageretail on this car is $35,475. Concourse restored, you’re looking at closer to$50k. know it will need little work here and there, so my start bid will beway lower. have dealt in Fords and Mustangs (classics) for more than 15years, so know lot about their values and history. As you can also see, Isell the parts. BUT, this is my personal Mustang and am not car dealer. Workaccomplished on Mustang:New High quality carpet $250New rear seat cover and rear seat carpet pieces installed $250New dual exhaust system from headers totrumpet exhaust tips $400New 15 Firestone tires $400New 15” one-piece aluminum styled steelwheels $750New Shelby-style steering wheel $240Rebuilt shifter $300Refinished/repainted all interiorpieces ($200 in parts and materials)New TMI custom high-end console $400Rebuilt rear drum brakes $150New mirrors $40New interior door panels $75Kick panels, scuff plates, dash bezel$75Dual exhaust GT rear valance installedand painted with new reverse lights (lights need to be wired) $400Newer battery $100New antenna $20Positive battery cableSolenoidVoltage regulatorTrunk matMustang finned valve coversHipo air cleanerMore than $4,000 in upgrades/fixes New partsnot installed, but included:Complete leaf spring kit $300Premium Gas tank kit with drain plug$180RH and LH rear frame rail, partialsections $125LH and RH trunk drop off sections $100Exterior door handles $50                    $700 in parts to install.Things tonote about this pony:Rear frame rail section has rust onboth LH and RH side where leaf spring mounts. This small section willeventually need to be replaced. Parts included. The trunk section should berefinished to be really nice. There will need to be some minor metal work donearound the trunk supports.Small patch on very front of both LH and RH floor pans. It's solid, but not pretty. To make it show car, you'd want to put in correct stamped medal. Cosmetics weren't that important to me on the floor pans.Rear leaf springs are old and worn out.Comes with new leaf springs to install.Couple dings in body. Few lightscratches. Couple bubbles here and there. Nothing horrible. Hood knicks thefender little when it latches. Minor adjustment is necessary. Small dentwhere RH fender meets headlight trim. Could be popped out with paintless dentremoval. The odometer cable popped off after Ire-installed the gauge bezel last summer. Currently inop. use my Waze app fora speedo.15" tires rub little on tight turns or over speed bumps.Driver’s side window popped off track.I’m going to try to get it back in place, but assume it will need to be fixed.Turn signal cancelling cam wasn’tinstalled when put in the new steering wheel. Some windshield wiper swipes on theglass. They may buff out. Front seats are little faded, but norips or tears.
I removed the rocker panel moldings. They were screwed on. You may want to put new ones on. personally like thecleaner look.Terms:$500 non-refundable deposit due to my Paypal account within 24hours of auction end.
