For sale is meticulously restored 1965 mustang Fastback GT code. This car has been restored from the ground up and has less than 200 miles since completion! everything is brand new. This mean one of kind 1965 fastback was inspired by the all new 2016 Shelby GT350R. Runs and drives excellent, no issues. Easily drive it around town, through the canyon, or drop it into 5th and cruise 75-80mph on the freeway. Over $70,000 invested not including any labor!

Before restoration
This is the real deal original CA car Gt code fastback, raven black, speed (now 5), with black pony interior from the San Jose factory. This mustang has lived all of its life in Los Angeles/ southern CA believed to be 43,xxx original miles). The body was in amazing condition when purchased with only small patch panels needed on the lower quarters. All the doors, fenders, trunk, and hood line up perfectly.

Paint
$17,000 Show quality PPG raven black base coat clear coat. Car was taken down to bare metal. Very little body filler/ metal glaze was used to surface the metal before priming. Block sanded numerous times before painting. Clear coat was color sanded by hand (not DA sander) in increments of 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, and 5000 grit before buffing with 3m rubbing compound. Over 100 man hours just in the color sand and buff!! Amazing deep black mirror like shine.
interior  
All new black pony deluxe interior. New carpet, underlayment, upholstery, door panels, headliner, glove box, steering wheel etc etc everything new
engine
Freshly rebuilt 302 with mild cam, polished edelbrock rpm performer intake, polished edelbrock 1406 carb. Edelbrock water pump, MSD electronic distributor with blaster coil, msd 8.5mm super conductor spark plug wires
Transmission
Rebuilt T5 world class speed transmission, new clutch, clutch cable, flywheel, speed conversion kit etc
Rear end
rebuilt factory 8” rear, 28 spline axles, 3.00 posi.
Brakes
new Wilwood disk brakes up front with rebuilt rear drums, all new brake lines, fluid, and large GT master cylinder
Suspension  
brand new Scott drake upper and lower control arms, scott drake shocks on all corners. Scott Drake progressive rate 1”  drop front coil springs and new leaf 2” lowering performance leaf springs
Cooling
Flex lite aluminum radiator with automatic electric fan. Runs cool, no overheating issues.
Electrical
All new factory correct wiring harnesses, new underdash harness, engine gauge harness, taillight harness, headlight harness, starter solenoid, voltage regulator, battery, high torque mini starter etc etc  
Stripes
Inspired by the all new 2016 shelby gt350. all stripes were custom made and professionally installed. (removable if buyer desires) high quality 3M matte black vinyl stripes measured to original shelby specs run down the center of the car and over the bumpers with ¼” red pinstripes for contrast. Tailight panel wrapped in matte black as well.  
Fuel
New 16 gallon tank, fuel sending unit, fuel lines, fuel pump etc.  
Powder coating
Front and rear bumpers in gloss black. Window moldings, tail light bezel, exhaust tips etc in matte black, and interior fold down seat trim in anodized silver.
Exhaust
Hedman headers to factory GT exhaust with trumpets exiting the rear valence
