Bold moves happen in this car every day, the kind that get you arrested. There are some vehicles with undeniable purpose. Ford couldn't afford misstep with its pony car and didn't risk much, mechanically or aesthetically, with one of its perennial bestsellers. There's not much new about the 4.6-liter modular V-8, but that doesn't matter, because it makes heaps of power and torque. FoMoCo has had quite awhile to figure out the whole live-axle thing, using that design since the Mustang's introduction in 1964. They've finally attached the solid axle to chassis stiff enough to make responsive handler. Ford nailed the Mustang's redesign-macho enough for contractors, cute enough for secretaries, undeniably American, and timeless. More importantly, it looks just as good with the rear fenders obscured by tire smoke." Car and Driver.

"The GT/CS was originally limited-production 1968 Mustang coupe fitted with Shelby Mustang dress-up pieces and sold only though dealerships in California. It was available with any engine, and either with or without the GT option. The 2007 California Special can be ordered as either coupe or convertible and will be available though Ford dealerships across the country.
The 2007 version has an aggressive front fascia with an integrated chin spoiler that sits 1.5 inches lower than the Mustang GT to provide larger air opening for increased cooling performance.
Out back, unique rear fascia styled wîth less 'tuck-in' features lower air-diffuser design that is similar to the rear of the 2007 Shelby GT500 – itself inspired by the rear diffuser on the Ford GT supercar.
