1947 Harley knucklehead. This bike was built in 2009 here at our shop for brother. He didn't ride it much at all due to back problems. Putting his daughter through college more important than having bitchen bike he can't ride. This bike was acquired as pretty complete Missouri titled 47 Harley in 2008.Getting the negatives out of the way first, the engine cases are matching numbered 1944 belly numbers. Motor number is missing. The bike has been inspected by the Calif. CHP and an assigned ID number has been issued to the motor and frame. Owner has has clean and clear Calif. title in hand. The tags are 2009 expired and if the bike sells in Calif. owner will pay all back fees. No point in doing that now if it goes out of state. will post more pics of the belly numbers and other stuff soon.
The engine has beautiful cases with no repairs at all. Flywheels were rebuilt. 47 date coded cylinders were bored. Cases were line lapped and fitted with new rollers. Heads had new valves, guides and springs, and spring covers and rocker housings were carefully fitted. No oil leaks. Has really nice oil pump. Very little oil in the sump even after sitting for 2+ years since it ran. Carb is Linkert M-35T. 12V  65A generator and look like 12V relay voltage regulator.
Transmission has the case vent and believe it's 47 as well, but can't see the date code. It has been gone through as well. Rachet lid and jockey shift. It has chain primary with diaphragm clutch. That, along with our pivoting foot pedal makes engaging the clutch away from stop very smooth.You can ride in circles at idle speed just feathering the clutch.
Frame is bullneck 47 and has been powdercoated along with the other black parts other than the sheetmetal. Hard to see the hallmarks but they are there.Rear fender is repro.Gas tanks are 47 with shift gate holes filled.
Fork looks like it's swept back rear leg fork from the early 40s?Star hubs are HD and all chrome was done by Vern's in So Cal.Buchanans S/S spokes and new Firestone and Avon tires.
This bike has been completely gone through and detailed to perfection.This bike was third place winner at the David Mann Chopperfest  in 2009
