This is an all original 1965 Harley-Davidson FLH ElectraGlide with 36,000 miles.  This is the first year for the ElectraGlide with it's 12V electrical system and electric start.  It is also the last year for the Panhead engine.  The 1965 HD FLH is one of the most sought after and collectable antique motorcycles.  With the Panhead engine and electric start it is the best of both worlds. The bike is factory original paint Hi-Fi Red Birch White.  Although it is faded, it is all original and great example of true original survivor.  It's only original once! The original owner of the motorcycle was Sparky Haines of Haines Harley-Davidson in Northumberland, PA.  You can see his original dealer decal on the side of the sidecar.                      The sidecar is fully loaded with spare tire carrier, tail light, custom extra right directional and Guide P-H9 Buck Rogers fender light.  The sidecar is 1963 with all matching numbers and original interior and windshield.  The bike has been correctly set up for the sidecar with adjustable rake front end, steering damper and beveled headlight ring.  In addition to the correct standard equipment for hauling this sidecar, the bike had few modifications to make it ready for some serious riding.  It's got an oil cooler, the steering damper knob was drilled and custom pin was made to keep it from turning, the oil tank had side fill and dipstick tube brazed in place like 1970 and later big twins and there were two holes drilled in the back of the headlight nacelle to access the fork filler screws to service the forks without having to remove the entire headlight and nacelle. There is also custom quick latch on the battery strap, easy access rear wire terminal block and power cutoff switch.  He also added an amp meter with handmade mounting bracket.  Lastly if you look close you'll notice the saddlebags sit up few inches higher than normal.  He customized the stock saddlebag brackets to lift the bags above the rear sidecar mount.  Lots of time and love went into making this rig ready to ride and enjoy lots of miles.I recently rebuilt the carb with rubber ducky float, installed a new battery, and serviced the rear brake.  It fires right up and runs great.  It looks as though the motor has never been apart.  Electric start and all lights work.  Call for more details.  Also for sale locally.  Steve  845-389-7197
