:	“The 1970 Harley-Davidson FLH featured in this auction was originally purchased by the Columbus, Indiana Police department. The officer that rode this bike purchased it personally when sold by the PD. He did several modifications and upgrades to the bike in his ownership. It sports a loud drag pipe exhaust, a Lockhart oil cooler, an S&S carburetor and air cleaner. There is a kickstarter and of course the electric start. The frontend was changed to one from a later Super Glide. There are a nice set of leather saddlebags. The bike has a 2014 Three Feathers sidecar installed by the current owner. This bike has had only two riders. The current owner is an old friend that purchased the bike in 2008 and is reluctantly selling because his disabilities do not allow him to ride the bike. Condition This bike runs and rides very well. The drag pipes are loud and the bike makes a great presence with a recent respray in Black with Blue ghost flames. 1970 Harley-Davidson FLH Police SpecialHistoryHarley-Davidson equipped the Electra-Glide with electric start beginning in1965. The new “Shovelhead” engine (named because of the shape of the valvecover), had an aluminum head with different-shaped combustion chamber, androcker arms attached to the rocker cover instead of to the head itself. Whilethe base FL produced 54 bhp, the FLH made full 60 bhp. The Electra-Glide wasa serious long-distance tourer with top speed just under 100 mph and adizzying array of optional extras. The 1970 Harley-Davidson FLH featuredin this auction was originally purchased by the Columbus, Indiana Policedepartment.
