1978 Harley Davidson Lowrider Beautiful First Edition Bike.This is coming out of my collection and has just had overall freshening up on very original and honest 68k mile FXS(not something someone cobbled and put low mileage speedo in claiming it is virgin- UGH there is LOT of junk out there- buyer beware)
Completely overhauled motor with new rods, shafts, timken and balancing- forged pistons, angle valvejob new manley spring kit,S&S solid cam, decked heads, powdercoated cylinders and heads with polished fin edges. crane single fire ignition, new oil lines expertly routed.Overhauled trans with new gearset and mainshaft.
NOS SILVER  FXS fork leg assemblies and had the paint matched from the factory silver to paint the rocker boxes, kicker cover, cam cover and primary as original.
New wiring harness, proper oem yankee turn signals with correct standoffs, rebuilt switchgear on the handlebars.Rebuilt brake calipers and master cylinders, NEW Dunlop raised white letter tires with 140 in the back- fills up the fender better.
New paint on the original sheetmetal. Basecoat clear with Ricks Decals decal set clearcoated over. Correct and original fender struts.Lots of other NOS items am forgetting. Original seat is little worn and has some blemishes but chose not to replace with better one like the character.
Bike starts, runs, rides and SOUNDS (it is pretty quiet with the OEM Harley 2-into-1) pretty much like new superglide or sportster.
Even though this motorcycle has had extensive work it will still need more maintenance then new bike. Parts will loosen up, there will be drips of oil, issues will arise (just protecting myself here it is great machine)
All matching numbers- motor, trans,frame, foil vin tag and title.
This is not slap together and flip for me-ALL work has been done to very high standard.  I have growing collection and am big AMCA supporter.
