This is the fifth 81 Sturgis that have owned and restored. Every piece of the bike has been painted or polished during it's restoration. This bike has been restored to be shown and ridden. Some parts, like the exhaust, wheels and the original Yankee turn signals show little patina. I would rather use original, correct parts with little wear than to use new aftermarket parts or incorrect parts. The seat has been recovered with an excellent reproduction cover. It has the very hard to find, original sissy bar bag. The speedometer is not the original, it had crack in the lens, the original showed little over 28k. Very few Sturgis engines are actually painted correctly with wrinkle finish on the rocker boxes, semi-gloss on the cylinders, texture paint on the crankcase and transmission and the heads having the fins shaved properly. The bike runs, shifts and rides very well and has no leaks. There have been no major modifications to the engine that am aware of. There are very few Sturgis that are this well restored or original Buyer to put $500.00 down payment via PayPal within 24 hrs of the end of the auction with the balance paid within seven days.
