1983 Harley-Davidson FLHT Electra Glide w/Shovelhead Motor
We are selling nice example of barn-find survivor 1983 Harley-Davidson FLHT Electra Glide with the last official year of the “Shovelhead” motor (1984 was transition year which was the start of Harley's “Evo” motor ... there were likely some 1984’s with leftover Shovelhead motors?).  This is numbers matching bike with VIN# 1HD1DCK16DY503117 and the Engine# 1DCKD503117.  We do not have any history on the bike as we found it at an auction in Georgia.  Based on looking over the bike, it appears to be unmolested and original ... although not positive, it does appear to us that the passenger portion of the seat was shortened slightly in the back to allow for more room on the rear rack (see photos).  All we did was change the engine oil/filter and the primary oil (tranny oil was already very clean) and cleaned the carb.  The bike fired right up and runs smoothly (see video).  It is tough to find neutral but, we are guessing it will become easier to find once the new owner gets used to the bike.  It has the enclosed chain drive and not the belt drive.  The bike did not come with any keys; however, the ignition is unlocked and the saddle bag lock internals have been removed and can be opened with small screw driver to release the latch.  Please keep in mind that this bike is over 35 years old and was ridden 65,000 miles so she does show normal wear tear with various scratches, chips, fading, rust, rub marks and typical wear (incredibly, the inside of the gas tank is clean with no visible rust).  Here in Florida, she is considered an antique which qualifies the bike to have an antique license plate.  There are no dents on the tins and it appears that the paint on the bike is original other than the top of the front fender that is darker and appears to not be factory (see photos).
The bike is true survivor and we are hoping to find her good home.  Check out all of the photos and the video.   Please note that if you live in Florida, we will have to process the title transfer (and registration if  you want) for you as we have Florida Dealer’s License (we are small custom shop http://www.barebonerides.com/index.html).  We have sold many bikes on eBay with many satisfied customers feel free to check us out along with our reviews on Google and Facebook.  We are hoping this bike will go to someone who is familiar with or collects these older Harley-Davidsons.  We have clean Alabama title in hand and are happy to answer any additional questions or send more photos.  Feel free to contact us or stop by the shop if you would like to see/hear her in person.  Here is short YouTube video showing the bike fired-up and running:  https://youtu.be/U9PzHA3Npd0
PAYMENT:   $200.00 DEPOSIT via PayPal or certified bank check or cash is due within couple days of winning the auction (see "Payment" tab for payment terms/requirements) – contact us through our website for our mailing address.  The balance must be paid via certified bank check, personal check or cash in person.  And obviously, the bike will not leave our shop until all funds (100%) have cleared and have been fully deposited in our accounts.
SHIPPING:   Please note that the buyer will be responsible for ALL shipping requirements/responsibilities from our shop in Merritt Island, Florida (zip code 32953).  We will gladly help coordinate pick-up at our shop with the Buyer’s shipper.
We set the reserve at reasonable value and below the current NADA book value based on the bike’s condition (which we consider to be 3.0-3.5 on scale of 1-5 with being mint condition).  Thanks for looking and good luck on this auction.
