Up for auction is my 1951 GMC rat truck. Somewhat removed from an original as you can see it consists of 1980 Jeep Grand Wagoneer frame modified for use and looks with this style of vehicle. The powertrain comprises 1975 Ford 390 FE engine from F150, C6 transmission from same truck(B&M Megashifter), and that diff is GM 14 bolt full floater designfrom 1977 ton truck...an the part that everybody seems to enjoy is the "quickchange" center section which  obviously isn't real but made from piece of oil pipeline, keystock, and ribbed cap from chrysler ls front wheel drive trans...gets the job done for less at any rate. Rear shocks are modified 1988 Honda Prelude stuts(please forgive me) and chromefront shocks. Steering is rack pinion from 97 pontiac sunfire modified for manual, trucks steers awesome and steeringfeel is similar to firmer feel power unit but way lighter than old time manual steer due to engine set back. Brakesare stock 14 bolt on the back and 1985 discs from Ford Econoline van on front. They are mounted in reverse on 1953Ford F150 straight axle. Brakes are power assisted by hydroboost unit from 1977 Cadillac and they will put you though the front window with ease if your not carefull(good braking are nice when tools walk out in front of you notpaying attention because they are too busy checking the truck out).Vehicle weight is 3440lbs with half tank gas instock gas tank behind the seat, with me sitting in it the truck has 50/50 weight distribution which is probably why it also brakes excellent. The spun aluminum tank on the back is 11 gal and is hooked up as reserve with manual petcockvalve under the tank. That being said like to drive with gas in both tanks because it smooths out the ride quite abit, the tires axle are really heavy(axle about 550 and wheels 85 each) so on rough rode can be bit choppy, but prettydecent on smooth, obviously not like new truck but anybody used to old pickups will be at home. Front tires areFirestone radials mounted on 15X5.25 Cragar SS wheels. Rears are 21.50X33 Hoosier Quicktime DOT mounted on custom built15X14 silver powdercoated steel wheels built by Stockton Wheel service in California specifically for this truck. alsohave set of those skinny tall truck tires with the big grip knobs on them to use for storage or as spares to driveon if need be. Body is machine sanded with 80 grit disc covered with enamel clearcoat, frame is coated with VHT castiron and is not bare metal. The factory instrument guages are installed but not hooked up(except dash lights),have column mounted tachometer and fuel guage under dash installed and working including dash lights. Side windows installed and roll up, no windshild wipers, have cool old truck style parking brake lever in it not hooked up buthave cable that goes with it that can be installed.A bit about motor and trans. Motor is stock internally with newtiming chain, valve springs, valve seals and head and oil pan gaskets. Exhaust is custom over the frame headers toglasspacks with header insulation added to headpipes few years ago. The carb was stock holley 600 as you cansee it in some of the pictures but I've since changed it to Carter 600 AFB with regulator also years ago. C6 trans hasbeen freshened up with new gaskets, seals and new fluid last summer, it shifts excellent and very firm while stillbeing stock internally does not leak drop of fluid, same for diff, 3.77 open ratio and works great with noleaks as well. The motor runs excellent but does have small weep of oil from the back somewhere I've never quite been able to find from where but nothing major, that is the only leak on the vehicle. put new water pump, rad hosesand new antifreeze as well last summer.
Well this is getting long, any questions just ask, built this truck 08-10 and have been driving it all the time(summer)since, start of 7th year in few weeks. built it to be reliable which it has been It is plated for the street andready to go, just add gas. You can imagine what it is like when your on the street and people are around, easily as muchattention and fun as the supercar boys, not as fast but you look bitchin doing it.
The only real downfall about this is live in Canada but am posting it worldwide. I'm trying to sell it out of my cityand hopefully out of province since will totally freak out if see it driving around here and it isn't me. For my American friends my city is named Regina Saskatchewan CA(insert own joke) and is located about 1/2 hours north of yourstate of NorthDakota. will do my best to  assist any way can with transport arrangements, although I'm not sure about the rules of shipping across border, think every state is bit different with liscensing although it falls underhistoric vehicle plates so we have that working in our favor. plate it for $75 season here, thats probably $20/seasonUS currency...lol $500 down days full payment. Thanks for looking everyone.
