Subaru Legacy estate with LPG system less than year old.
My Legacy 3.0RN estate is for sale by auction, no reserve. I've just bought Subaru Levorg, so this has to go now.
The car had coolant problem overheated on the motorway few months ago it all leaked out as pipe to the oil cooler had rusted through burst open.Since then the problem metal piping has been replaced with new rubber hose, so it leaks no more. It has also had new radiator and new coolant.
Alas it's not completely cured. I've driven it few times on the motorway. On uphill sections the temperature starts to go up. had to move it off road at the beginning of March as needed another car to get to work. Recent events meant that couldn't do anything with it.The replacement car that got developed fault and got fed up with having two cars couldn't use so last week bought newer Levorg.
So now the Legacy is up for sale. Everything works on it it even had new windscreen back in December. The aircon was recharged last year it had an oil and filter change after the radiator was changed the leak fixed. The LPG system is still under warranty and works perfectly. It was over £1000 to convert last year even had massive 84litre tank fitted. On first looks you wouldn't think there was problem with it at all.
I have tested the car few times and it can be driven in traffic and on local roads without any problem. My route to work involves driving the motorway and it starts to get hot on the uphill sections of the motorway 70mph. Admittedly last time drove it at 60 and it didn't get hot. It does use some coolant though and needs about pint after an hour of driving. have driven it locally for 1/2 an hour and it didn't need anything at all though. It's not consistent with the problem, but know it's there.I'm suspecting head gasket problem, but as moved the car few miles away from my home address to try to work on it at just the wrong time in March haven't been able to do anything with it.
It's on my brother's driveway and the space is now needed.
Plus points are that it starts easily, the transmission is good and it's smooth to drive. The interior is little dirty the front bumper has faded, appearing to be slightly different shade of red now.
There are no warning lights on there have not been any error codes. I've got two keys for it too. There is also remnants of tow bar on the car. Apparently it was Witter detachable swan neck, but the swan neck ball are missing along with the electrical socket. The wiring is still present inside the tailgate.
The car is available to see in Burnham-on-sea, in Somerset  TA8   J22 off of the M5
