1951 BSA D1 125cc Bantam, with V5C NO RESERVE!
Here is bike which needs no introduction! The famous BSA Bantam. Here in  D1 plunger guise with the sought after and rare Lucas electrics and battery option. The bike is up and running and ready to go. It starts very easily and sounds great. It pops along nicely and all three gears and clutch work well. The electrics are good with good charge showing on the Lucas ammeter. new modern battery is fitted inside the shell. The bike rides really well brakes are ok, Smith’s shaped speedo is working too. Recorded mileage is 19513 but unlikely to be genuine suppose. The bike comes with V5C registration certificate. Reg no is 898 UYO (cannot be transferred to another vehicle). Frame number is YDL 48182, Engine number is YDL 4252 these are the factory originals according to VMCC dating letter which also states the bike was despatched on 19th December 1950 to Shovelbottoms Ltd Sparkbrook, Birmingham. The bike is registered as Historic Vehicle so road tax is free. It is also pre-60 MOT exempt. There is Haynes manual and an original BSA Instruction Manual included.Cosmetically the bike is clean tidy presentable but not immaculate or concours by any means. The enamel on the frame looks very good but on the tinware in particular, apart from being spot on the right colour and in good condition, looks to be non professional standard of finish. Possibly high quality brush painted or possibly sprayed over brush primered. Either way, if you look closely you can see brush marks in the enamel. The wheel rims and spokes are all in good clean condition but sadly their enamel is slight mis-match green  to the rest of the bike!Front tyre is an old Dunlop ribbed type, rear is an Avon SM is good condition. There is no fin damage on the barrel but there are couple of small fins chipped on the head not very noticeable. The seat is in good condition. The exhaust pipe is painted matt black, the silencer is good chrome. This is very good example of the D1 125cc learner legal Bantam. It is very presentable and in good mechanical working order ready to ride and enjoy!Don’t miss this classic British lightweight!Selling as good little runner with NO RESERVE NO BUY IT NOW!
