Rare and very sought after Japanese made YPVS 250 in decent running order. The Japanese manufactured models are generally more highly regarded than the Brazilian ones which makes this bike all the more desirable. It has just been put back on the road after sitting in shed for number of years. The brakes have been rebuilt with new pistons and seals, the front brake master cylinder has also been rebuilt, fork seals, headstock bearings, and front wheel bearings replaced and it has been fitted with new tyres and new battery. Gearbox oil has been replaced and the cooling system flushed and refilled with fresh coolant. It starts easily, runs sweet and goes like stink, certainly the fastest 250 I've ever ridden! took it for 50 mile run after it passed its MOT and it ran very well. It's pretty much original although took the original horn off as it was fouling on the fairing just needs the bracket straightened out. The plastics are far from perfect with few cracks and some lugs missing. The fairing and swing arm have bit of rust in places but nothing serious and it would all clean up beautifully. The back brake was good enough to pass its MOT but it would probably benefit from rear master cylinder rebuild. The left mirror has crack in it but I'll throw in brand new after market replacement. The original speedo cable was seized and snapped when we took the bike out for hurl so replaced it with the cable of Lifan 125. It works now.
This bike could easily be used as is or would form the ideal basis for total restoration. It has just under 43000 kms on the clock although that might go up if the weather's decent over the next few days!
The bike is located in the North-East of Scotland. I'd like the buyer to collect it. In fact I'd really like the buyer to ride it home because it deserves to be used to its full potential. won't take responsibility for any speeding penalties you pick up on the journey home! I'm also happy to help with getting the bike ready for collection by courier if required and would seriously consider delivering the bike if you pay my train fare or flight home. especially if you're in the south of France or Italy.........
I'm starting the bidding on this at an astonishingly reasonable ??0.99 to encourage an insane frenzy of early bidding. Cash on collection would be the ideal form of payment. On 04-Apr-16 at 05:01:33 BST, seller added the following information:I should also mention that the tank had slight leak on the keel side. We rubbed it down and found couple of wee holes which we filled with epoxy metal. It's no longer leaking but you might want to do more permanent repair. The chain and sprockets are new.
